It started off in 2006 when I first launched this website. The layout was rubbish, the colour scheme was horrendous and the content was not very interesting. I received some helpful suggestions (and some that were NOT very helpful!) about what I should do with the website..... and so began a bit of a learning curve.

Recently I have been approached by several people and organisations to build websites for them, and the links below will show you some of my handiwork. Apparently, professional website designers would charge a four-figure sum to construct a website the size of this one.

But, judge for yourself - click on some of these links. If you're willing to offer me a few bob to construct a website for you, please get in touch through the "CONTACT ME" page.

Donna's Dream House website breaks records!

Donna's Dream House asked me to build their website, and I added a PayPal donation facility. They featured on Channel 4's "Secret Millionaire" programme on Sunday night, 29th March. In the 48 hours following, over 6000 hits were recorded, more than 100 messages were posted on the Guestbook and PayPal donations were made running into thousands of pounds!

This site was viewed in these countries: UK, USA, Ireland, Australia, France, India, Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Denmark, Iran, South Africa, New Zealand, Turkey, Hungary, Taiwan, China, Isle of Man, Italy and Guernsey.

Amongst others there were visitors from the following organisations: Kirklees Council, Barclays Bank plc, Ford Motor Company, University of Leeds, University of Manchester, University of Durham, University of Stellenbosch, John Lewis Partnership, Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, Manchester City Council, Bishop Stopford School, Mr Richard Storah, Manchester College of Further Education, Teekay Shipping and Unilever plc.

This is what some people typed in their search engines: MPTE, Thornhill Colliery, Dewsbury Hospital, Woolton Cinema, PFIC liver, Peter Harvey support groups, C B Kelton, CLDF, Anthony Steen MP, Donna's Dream House and Frontierland. It's good to know I'm drawing attention to the causes I support, and those I oppose! A strange entry was "Boy hit by golf ball 1963" but a worrying one was "IMAGES OF NAKED TEACHER BEING CANED." To this person, let me say I'm sorry you didn't find what you were looking for. Would you like me to publish your ISP address?

PHOTO GALLERIES

Some pages contain "galleries" of photographs. To see a picture in better quality, simply left-click on it. Then you can right-click on it if you want to zoom in, or out. To return to the gallery, left-click on the small square at the top right corner of the picture (or click on any other part of the page and the picture will disappear).

SLIDESHOWS

Some pages contain slideshows. These are set for the pictures to change every six seconds. You can adjust this time with the sliding control above the picture. The picture title appears below the picture for two seconds after each change. To keep the title visible, leave your cursor over it. You can pause the slideshow with the button above the picture. To jump to another picture, click on its thumbnail at the bottom. To continue the slideshow after doing this, you will need to click on the "play" button above the picture.

SCROLLING TEXT BOXES

Some pages contain scrolling text boxes, where there is too much text to show in the box at one time. To scroll the text up or down, click on the arrows at the bottom left of the text box or, if your mouse has a scroll-wheel, click anywhere on the text box, then use the wheel.
