SINCE 3rd APRIL 2006
Unlike the works further down this page, in which publication was sponsored, my latest effort was published on its own merits - as much a shock to me as anyone who knows me! Back in 1985, a gentleman I knew in Liverpool was explaining to me how he had injured his back whilst mowing the lawn. A few nights later, with the aid of several glasses of Scotch Whisky, I had the inspiration to set the story to verse. It then lay undisturbed in my archives for 25 years until I spotted an on-line poetry competition. I sent the thing in and expected to hear no more about it. Then I suddenly received a contract to sign!
I have changed the spelling of the gentleman's surname, but he will probably recognise the story - I hope he doesn't mind!
My first book, "RETURN TO THE BLUE COAT" was published in November 2007 and is available exclusively from the Liverpool Blue Coat Brotherly Society for the bargain price of £7.99 (+£1.50 p&p). The book tells of my six years at the Blue Coat School from 1971 until 1977 and my nostalgic return in 2004. The final chapter was written by my former English teacher, ALAN GLEAVE, who taught at the school from 1975 until 2005.
Three other books were published in this series by the Brotherly Society.
"A Blue Coat Boy in the 1920s" was written by Danny Ross who passed away in 2004 at the age of 90.
"Memories from the mid-20th Century" was produced by Frank Irwin, a pupil in the 1950s. It contains tales by many Old Blues, and a couple of teachers.
"Recollections of two Blue Coat Boys, 1944-1955" was written by Hugh Stephenson.
These books retail at £7.99, £14.99 and £6.99 respectively, or you can buy ALL FOUR FOR £30.00. (plus p&p).

A masterpiece I wrote back in 1978 finally hit the streets on Monday 18th May 2009. A great children's bedtime story, it tells the tale of how a duck-billed platypus learned to speak.
For only £4.99 (+£1.50 p&p), it can be ordered from the publisher, Dewsbury Bus Museum, by clicking this PayPal link:
All profits will go to The Sick Children's Trust.
Michael Crawford collects his copy of "Oops-a-daisy" in July 2010.

I can't really take much credit for this one, I simply compiled and arranged over 160 photographs taken by Keith Watson. Keith was a founder member of Dewsbury Bus Museum and he passed away early in 2008. His family gave his collection to the Bus Museum.
This is one of a pair of books published on 18th May 2009, and retailing at £7.99 (+£1.50 p&p) each.
The other book is:
"West Riding - the Red Buses" by Stuart Goldthorpe
